Frequently Asked Questions
Is Caribbean food hot and spicy?
Caribbean cuisine ranges from very hot to not at all hot!! The essence of its success lies in the careful mix of herbs, spices and other ingredients to create a flavour which does not necessarily rely on chilli for its impact. Truly wonderful flavours can be experienced without a hint of heat. The heat factor is indicated by a number of chillis next to each meal on this website.
Why is your food frozen?
Apart from the marinades and seasonings which are freshly made for each dish, there is absolutely nothing else to preserve the food. We’d like to keep it that way, leaving artificial preservatives out of our food, so that you can enjoy a genuinely home-cooked experience. Within considerably less than two hours of being cooked, each meal is in the freezer. Freezing not only maintains the food integrity, but also ensures a much longer shelf life.
How do I cook or reheat your food?
All of our dishes carry full heating instructions and most can be cooked straight from the freezer.
What if I have food allergies?
Any recognised allergens are clearly marked on our packaging. There are no added nuts in any dish, although our kitchen is not nut-free.
